Join the Communicate Better Blog Book Club
We read a lot of books here at Communicate Better blog with the intention to further our learning and understanding. We seek wisdom from others to gain deeper insight to ourselves in order to always do our best and provide the best possible experience to our own team and our customers.
With so many amazing books out on the shelves, we find it incredibly inspiring to read and discuss what we learn with each other. It’s the power of the different viewpoints that allows us to see things we may have missed.
That said, we’re considering starting a Communicate Better Blog Book Club (say that three times fast).
Here’s what we’re thinking:
- We’ll assign a book for the group to read over a period of time. We’re thinking books from every angle, such as customer service/experience, leadership, motivation, inspirational, etc.
- Weekly, we’ll post discussion questions and readers can share their comments to get the ideas flowing.
- We’ll post questions/quotes/tidbits from the book via our Twitter page (@commbetterblog) to keep the chat interesting.
- When we’ve completed the book, we’ll pick a few of our members to participate in a Coffee and Customer Service Google Hangout with us to have a live discussion of the book’s impact.
- We’ll also welcome guest blog posts about the book as we’re reading it.
So, if you might be interested in participating, let me know by leaving a comment on this post or sending a Tweet our way (@commbetterblog).

YAY Lara! I’ve added you to our list and will email you soon.
Is this the Lara Loucks that I know?! As in, Lara Loucks CPLP?
Yep! It’s me! This group mentioned a book clubs and that is how I came across it. So hard to find book clubs that focus on business or leadership. Goodreads is *so* complicated these day and I haven’t figured out how to connect with others on Amazon/Kindle. Linkedin has book clubs but they haven’t panned out.Now I’m going to download your book and read it by the end of April!
That’s so cool that you found your way to the Communicate Better Blog. Jeremy and Jenny (the awesome folks who run it) are very cool people and extremely passionate about service.
And, they were kind enough to do an interview with me about my book on a Google Hangout:

Joe, you got it! I’ll email you soon. 🙂
What books have we considered reading and sharing on? There are some oldies but goodies. You Just Don’t Understand (Tanner 1990) is one of my favorite; the research is excellent. Integrity Service (Willingham 2005) is okay. The best part of it is the Behavior Styles Model which is similar to the Colors or the SELF Profile.
Hey Lara! Thanks for the suggestions! We’re open to considering anything that has to do with customer service/experience, leadership, business and improving yourself to improve others. I sent an email to you the other day–not sure if you received it though! Let me know! I am going to pick a book here shortly and post it later today. So honored to have you in our club!
