Puppy Parties: How Cute Puppies Make a Positive Impact on the Customer Experience

Who doesn’t love puppies? They’re cute, cuddly, and have a way of brightening up even the gloomiest of days. But did you know that they can also be powerful tools for delivering exceptional an customer experience and making a positive impact on people and dogs? That’s exactly what the Puppy Parties program at The Animal Pad in San Diego is all about.

As a volunteer at The Animal Pad, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the impact that Puppy Parties can have. The program involves bringing rescue puppies to various events such as corporate team-building activities, birthday parties, weddings and community gatherings. The goal is to provide a fun and interactive experience for attendees while also raising awareness and funds for The Animal Pad.

But Puppy Parties is much more than just an opportunity to play with cute puppies. It is about creating an emotional connection between people and the rescue mission. It is about educating the public about responsible pet ownership and the importance of adopting from a rescue organization rather than buying from a pet store or breeder. It is about inspiring people to become advocates for animal welfare and join the cause.

At its core, Puppy Parties is all about delivering exceptional customer experience. The volunteers go above and beyond to ensure that attendees have a memorable and enjoyable time. They answer questions about the puppies, take photos with them, and make sure that everyone feels valued and appreciated. The organization believes that every interaction with their organization should be a positive one, and Puppy Parties is no exception.

The impact of Puppy Parties goes beyond the event itself. The organization has received countless messages from attendees expressing their gratitude for the experience and their newfound passion for animal rescue. Some have even gone on to adopt a rescue pet of their own or volunteer at the organization.

Puppy Parties aligns with customer service because it is all about creating a positive and memorable experience for customers. It is about going above and beyond to exceed their expectations and leave a lasting impression. And when the organization does that, they not only make a difference in the lives of their rescue puppies but also in the lives of the people they touch.

Behind the scenes, we use Freshdesk to respond to guest inquiries. This allows us to track how many types of parties we book, keep guests up to date with party coordination and send internal notes to one another on our volunteer team. We’ve also developed a Bark of Customer funnel to request feedback post-party from guests so we know what we did well and what we can do moving forward to improve.

The Animal Pad has an incredible team of people with the biggest hearts behind the mission. It takes a village to make everything happen: from fosters to events, to transporting pups from one place to another, to vets and medical support, to intake and adoptions…I can’t even list out everything and how much time, money and effort goes into making sure these pups get the care they need and find amazing homes. Our Puppy Party “Leader of the Pack”, Sofie, has her own photography company and is an extraordinary leader, guiding the Puppy Party team to great heights to provide a high-touch experience for our guests. The amount of love she puts into everything she does to make this happen is something I am constantly in awe of.

The organization provides volunteer training resources, volunteer onboarding, internal documentation, and processes and procedures for guest relations to ensure that everyone has an amazing experience.
